Weeknote 128
More time in Spain and a special British train trip
- Continuing with our visit to Málaga this week, we took in more sights and attraction of the town including more tapas restaurants, Picasso's birth home and the Alcazaba fortress.
- On Wednesday, we joined a coach tour to Ronda, with a scenic stop in Setenil along the way. By afternoon, the temperature had soared to 36 °C, and I found myself steadily sipping through a few bottles of chilled water bought from the local shops to stay cool. The breathtaking scenery was certainly worth all the sweat and discomfort of extreme heat.
- Whilst in Málaga we discovered La Barra Inka which is a Peruvian restaurant there serving up the best sushi I've had since my last visit to Chile. It was so good we went twice during our visit to also try their Tres leches cake which was perfectly delicious and light.
- Back in the UK, I finally enjoyed the birthday surprise unveiled last month—a round-trip aboard the Belmond Pullman from London to Whitstable. From start to finish, the journey felt truly special: gourmet dining, stunning coastal landscapes, and a nostalgic glance as we passed my birthplace in south-east London, my former home in Tonbridge and places I visited by bicycle during my decade living in Kent.
Algo en español
- Hablar español en España era divertido, pero mi piel blanca y mi cabello rubio a menudo significaban que los españoles me respondían en inglés!
